Surah Yaseen – the Heart of the Quran

As everyone knows, the Holy Quran is the guidance book for all Muslims around the world. It contains 114 Surah, and this Surah is one of them. Surah Yaseen – the Heart of the Quran, this is the title of Surah Yaseen. As we know, every Surah of the Holy Quran has its great benefit, and its great meaning, also this Surah has its own benefits and meanings. this surah consists of 83 great verses.  

Headlines of Surah Yaseen – the Heart of the Quran:

This Surah was revealed on our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in Mecca except for the verse number 45:  

{وَمَا تَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ آيَةٍ مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ}

This verse is the only one that was revealed in Madinah.

Surah Yaseen – the Heart of the Quran talks about 3 main headlines which are:

  1. The oneness of Allah Almighty. As Allah is our only God, and He is our only Force. 2. The message from Allah on His Messenger Muhammad (SAW). 3. The day of Judgement, and this with evidence and proofs.

The aim of Surah Yaseen – the Heart of the Quran:

  This Surah  was revealed to confirm the message of Islam, and a reminder of God’s power, and greatness. Also, this surah, confirms that nothing is impossible for Allah in Heaven, or on Earth.

There are many lessons that must be learnt from Surah Yaseen – the Heart of the Quran.

We will mention some of these lessons:

● The winners are those who followed the Messenger of Allah Muhammad (SAW), and the Islamic religion. ● The Holy Quran is understood; as it addresses all people at all times. ● Allah Almighty Is able to resurrect the deed, and resurrect them from the graves. ● He is also able to revive the Hearts of unbelievers, and guide them. ● Every Muslim must be positive, commands virtue, and forbids evil. ● Acknowledging that everything around us is made by Allah.

Why was it named the Heart of the Quran?

Surah Yaseen – the Heart of the Quran was named by this name due to the Hadith of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW): “everything has a Heart, and the Heart of the magnificent Quran is Surah Yaseen.”  
What are the benefits of reciting Surah Yaseen?
Reciting any verse of the Holy Quran has its great reward. Each letter has a reward, and multiplied by ten. The beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “Don’t say that Alif Laam Meem is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Meem is a letter.” This means that reciting one verse has a very great reward. But each Surah of the Holy Quran has its own benefit when recited. ● The benefit of Surah Yaseen will appear when we know the Hadith of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) when He said:

من قرأ یس في لیلة أصبح مغفورا له

 
The translation of this Hadith is:

Whoever recites this Surah  at night, he will be forgiven in the Morning. This shows the greatness of reciting Surah Yaseen. ● Another Hadith that shows the benefits of this Surah is    اقرءوا یس على موتاكم

 
The translation of this Hadith is:
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) asks us to recite Surah Yaseen – the Heart of the Quran to read it to the deed. The importance of reciting it on the dying person lies in its inclusion of God’s oneness, and the day of judgment. It also contains good news for the believer who dies on monotheism.
